Our PGA Junior League program is designed to develop young golfers in a fun, team-oriented environment while offering the right level of competition for every player. We will field two teams this season: a Developmental Team and a Competition Team.
Team placement will be determined after the first joint practice on June 2nd from 6:30–8:00 PM, allowing coaches to evaluate skill level, experience, and readiness for competition.
Each team will receive up to 10 practices, official team gear, and participate in an end-of-season party to celebrate the year.
Ages: 9 – 13 (as of July 31st)
Practices: Tuesdays, 3:30–5:00 PM @ Pleasant Valley Golf Course
Competitions: Up to four outside competitions against other PGA Junior League teams
Ages: 7 – 13 (as of July 31st)
Practices: Thursdays, 3:30–5:00 PM @ Pleasant Valley Golf Course
Competitions: In-house competitions held at Elev8 Golf Club with up to 1 outside match against another team.
Our Junior League team has up to team 10 practices taking place over the summer. Practices are 90 minutes in length with a focus on physical development, skill building in a competitive learning environment.
Each team is broken into two-person teams. Sometimes 3 if a substitute is included. These groups of 2 or 3 play together in games.
All PGA Jr. League games are played in two-person scramble format. This means both players in a pair hit drives, select the best shot, hit from that spot and continue this process until the hole is completed.
The 2 pairs competing against each other will be scored using the match play format. This means the scores each team receives will be compared on each hole. The team with the lower score will win the hole.
Within a game the pairs will play a 9 hole match consisting of 3 flags. Flags are made up of 3 holes in a row. Each team has the opportunity to earn points within each flag.
